As Vietnam’s construction industry enters a phase of rapid digital transformation, Building Information Modeling (BIM) management has become a critical skill to enhance competitiveness. Recognizing this urgent need, Van Lang University, in collaboration with Konia Co., Ltd. – the authorized exclusive distributor of Tekla Structures in Vietnam – has launched the “Training Program for 1,000 BIM Managers in Vietnam.” This strategic initiative not only aims to strengthen the supply of high-quality human resources for the industry but also expands access to BIM for a wider community of students, young engineers, and construction professionals.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu – President of Van Lang University – delivered the opening speech at the event.
BIM – The Foundation of Modern Construction
Today, BIM has become a comprehensive information management method that spans the entire project lifecycle. With BIM, all data—from design and construction to operation—is digitized, visualized, and synchronized. This enables seamless collaboration among stakeholders, reduces errors, and optimizes project schedules, costs, and overall quality.
Within the BIM ecosystem, Tekla Structures stands out as a leading software solution, allowing the creation of highly detailed and accurate 3D steel structure models that can be easily shared in a digital environment. Complementing this is Trimble Connect – an online collaboration platform that helps project teams manage data effectively and stay instantly updated.
In this landscape, the BIM Manager plays a crucial role as the coordinator, connector, and enabler of efficient collaboration. Depending on the field and project type, BIM Managers must be able to oversee and integrate core tools such as Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect – the essential foundation for every engineer and manager to thrive in the digital era of construction.
Mr. Le Hung Tien, MSc – Director of the ATC Center, shared insights on the role of BIM in the construction industry.
Event on September 26, 2025 – Opening Ceremony of the BIM Manager Training Course
To prepare a workforce capable of taking on this strategic role, the ATC Center of Van Lang University, in collaboration with Konia Co., Ltd., has developed a comprehensive training program that not only equips participants with management knowledge but also emphasizes hands-on practice with the most advanced BIM tools.
On September 26, 2025, the BIM Manager training course, organized with the support of Konia Co., Ltd., officially commenced. The event attracted strong interest from students, young engineers, and representatives of construction enterprises, while also reaffirming the strategic importance of BIM Managers – the true “conductors” of modern projects.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thao – Business Director of Konia Co., Ltd. – shared her pride in accompanying the BIM Manager Training Program.
The Training Program for 1,000 BIM Managers – Scale and Significance
Led by the ATC Center of Van Lang University, the program is conducted online from August to December 2025. With a scale of 1,000 participants nationwide, this is the largest BIM training initiative ever launched in Vietnam.
A highlight of the program is its goal of bringing students and young engineers closer to the latest BIM applications, particularly by mastering two strategic tools: Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect. Participants are not only equipped with theoretical knowledge but also gain hands-on experience with the software throughout the course. Upon completion, learners receive a BIM Manager Certificate issued by Van Lang University, affirming their capability to apply BIM in a professional environment.
Notably, with the support of Konia, participants also gain access to the self-learning E-learning platform koniacampus.com – developed by Konia, offering Vietnamese-language content designed to meet real-world industry demands. This serves as a valuable resource, allowing learners to enhance their skills proactively without the limitations of time or location. Beyond that, Konia is offering the first 100 participants the opportunity to obtain an international Tekla certificate, valued at 4 million VND, completely free of charge. This globally recognized certification is highly valued by construction enterprises and significantly broadens career opportunities for learners, both in Vietnam and abroad.
The collaboration between Van Lang University and Konia Co., Ltd. in the “1,000 BIM Managers for Vietnam” project goes beyond training; it marks an important step in bringing BIM technology, Tekla Structures, and Trimble Connect closer to the next generation of engineers. Through this program, thousands of learners nationwide will have the opportunity to access advanced digitalization tools free of charge, earn reputable certifications, and, most importantly, become pioneers driving the digital transformation of Vietnam’s construction industry.
