Product Updates

In Production

SketchUp 2024 launch
The 2024 release took a giant leap forward in delivering enhanced collaboration with link-sharing and visualization tools, adding a new layer of depth to the SketchUp interface. The Ambient Occlusion feature was one of our most significant visual enhancements, allowing users to produce stylized visuals similar to clay or white models. To top it all off, we completely redesigned the graphics engine to make complex models feel lighter and load faster.

In Labs

DiffusionLABS
Harness the power of AI directly in SketchUp to create rendered images in seconds. With a text prompt, a simple model, or both, Diffusion can help you generate photorealistic visuals that capture your unique vision.

Scan-to-DesignLABS
Scan-to-Design was the release of a groundbreaking workflow specifically for iPad, allowing users to scan, design, and collaborate — all in one app. Scan existing interior spaces and watch SketchUp, powered by Canvas, Apple, and Trimble’s cutting-edge technology, transform your scan data into an intelligently organized SketchUp model.

Scan SpaceLABS
Scan existing spaces with your Meta Quest device and auto-generate an organized, easy-to-access SketchUp model. Enable Passthrough to situate your design in the physical world for better visualization and informed decisions using SketchUp Viewer for Meta Quest.

AI Model Finder LABS
With AI Model Finder, the newest powerful search system in 3D Warehouse, you can now type words and phrases in multiple supported languages to find the models best suited for your project. Describe the object or image you want to find as clearly as possible using plain, natural language, and watch as content is displayed and ranked in a way that best matches your search parameters.

3D Basecamp at Trimble Dimensions

November saw the return of one of our favorite SketchUp user conferences—3D Basecamp! This year, we joined the annual Dimensions conference at The Venetian in Las Vegas to celebrate all things Trimble. Attendees were some of the first to experience our collective vision for the future of SketchUp while joining together for hands-on training, mind-expanding community presentations, and networking parties.

Check out the SketchUp keynote for a sneak peek at what 2025 has in store, and you can also watch the Dimensions keynote for what’s “new, next, and now” at Trimble. We can’t wait to see you again at the next 3D Basecamp in 2026!

You asked, and we delivered! In 2024, we were excited to launch monthly pricing options for both the Go and Pro subscriptions, offering more flexible payments. The new monthly plan offers the same full SketchUp access with more opportunities to scale your subscription to match your workflow needs easily.
