“BIM Within Reach – Applying Tekla for the New Generation of Engineers” marks an important milestone in the collaboration between Konia Co., Ltd. and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE). The event offered students an opportunity to explore Tekla Structures, the world’s leading structural modeling platform, and to learn about the internationally recognized Tekla Certification issued by Trimble.

“BIM Within Reach” – Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry
More than just a regular lecture within the university curriculum, the seminar “BIM Within Reach – Applying Tekla for the New Generation of Engineers”—jointly organized by Konia Co., Ltd. and HUCE—served as a bridge connecting academic learning with real-world professional practice.
The event attracted around 700 fourth-year civil engineering students, providing a valuable opportunity to engage directly with industry experts, discuss BIM–Tekla career pathways, and explore essential skills for entering today’s digital construction workforce.
The seminar not only expanded students’ technical understanding and practical perspective but also reflected HUCE’s commitment to aligning its training programs with industry needs and the broader digital transformation of the construction sector.

Konia Campus – Opening the Door to Tekla Learning from the Classroom
The program began with a presentation from Konia Co., Ltd., introducing Konia Campus—a specialized online learning platform for digital construction.
Rather than offering only theoretical content, Konia Campus serves as an intuitive digital library that helps learners gain deeper insight into how Tekla Structures is applied in design, project management, and structural modeling.
With a rich library of video tutorials curated by leading Tekla experts in Vietnam, the platform enables students to gradually familiarize themselves with international standards and cutting-edge BIM practices—right from their university years.
Notably, Konia also announced a free examination and certification program for the Tekla Professional Certificate, issued and globally recognized by Trimble, the developer of Tekla. This initiative empowers HUCE students to validate their professional competence and enhance their career prospects in a market where BIM–Tekla expertise is increasingly in demand.

From Classroom to Construction Site: Tekla’s Journey with HUCE Engineers
Returning to HUCE as the keynote speaker, Mr. Nguyen Van Do, Director of FrameTech DNG and a HUCE alumnus, shared valuable real-world insights into how Tekla and BIM are applied across international construction projects.
Drawing from years of experience in structural design in both Japan and Vietnam, he discussed how companies are gradually shifting toward digital design models powered by BIM.
From his introduction, the seminar transitioned into two main technical sessions, giving students a clearer understanding of Tekla Structures’ role throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Session 1: Integrated BIM Design Workflow and Tekla Applications in Construction
This session highlighted the differences between traditional design processes and those enhanced by BIM using Tekla Structures. Within a unified 3D environment, engineers can detect design conflicts early, minimize errors, and streamline coordination among disciplines. The tool also ensures seamless data connectivity from design to fabrication and construction, significantly improving accuracy and efficiency.
Session 2: Real-World Applications of Tekla Structures – FrameTech Projects in Japan
Continuing the discussion, Mr. Do presented several real projects executed by FrameTech DNG in Japan, where Tekla Structures served as the core platform. The engineering team utilized Model Sharing for collaborative modeling and integrated APIs and automation to optimize workflows and reduce repetitive tasks.
Through these practical examples, students gained a clearer picture of how Tekla Structures is driving digital transformation in the global construction industry.
In addition to the technical sessions, the seminar featured an engaging Tekla Quiz with prizes, creating an energetic atmosphere and strengthening connections between students and professionals.

Celebrating Student Excellence and Collaboration
As part of the program, a scholarship worth 5 million VND was awarded to Do Thanh An (Class 2407XD1) for his outstanding graduation project, “Kim Tin Bac Ninh Factory”, which effectively applied Tekla Structures in structural design.
This recognition not only celebrated individual achievement but also demonstrated the company’s commitment to supporting young engineers on their journey toward mastering digital construction technologies.
The seminar stands as a testament to the long-term partnership between Konia Co., Ltd. and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, promoting BIM integration in education.
Through Konia Campus and the Tekla Professional Certification Program, HUCE students are gaining access to global standards and practical experience during their studies.
As a result, Tekla Structures is becoming an essential companion for the next generation of engineers, helping to shape a smarter, more digital future for Vietnam’s construction industry.
