Updated AI Cloud Fabrication Drawings Service

Reduce the time and expertise needed to create fabrication drawings with AI-assisted template selection and improved cloning and associativity. Launched in 2025 as a preview feature for Diamond licenses, this service has been improved based on your feedback. Our new AI model improves template matching from the cloud libraries, while a human-in-the-loop step helps fine-tune the AI suggestions.

The updated interface offers a clear template preview, top three AI-based matches, and options to clone or create from settings. Cloning has been improved with more reliable placement of annotations, dimensions, and views, avoiding issues such as stiffeners being dimensioned as connection plates. Section views can also be associated with objects, helping keep drawings consistent after cloning or model updates.

Project Settings Management Console – Preview

Custom environment and project setup just got easier with our new cloud-based Project Settings Management Console. Simplify the installation process and ensure every team member has instant up-to-date and uniform settings, files and extensions, eliminating the need for manual file management. Administrators can test project settings in the new sandbox environment to ensure everything works as expected before publishing.

Trimble Assistants for Tekla: User and Developer Assistants and Model Assistant – Preview

Enjoy improved and integrated AI assistants that help users and developers learn and navigate within the software while providing better quality answers. Additionally, the new AI Model Assistant is an early preview feature for modeling operations using natural language. Just describe what you need: custom information about specific objects, create columns at grid points, modify beam profiles, hide concrete elements, create connections, or export your drawings to Trimble Connect.

The AI Model Assistant reads your model context in real-time and handles the tasks you assign. The feature is still learning, but it is already making headway towards new and intuitive ways of model management and creation.

Accelerate Design at All Project Phases

Simultaneous Cross-Model and GA Drawing Editing

Create plan, section and elevation drawings faster by editing the model and the drawing simultaneously, side by side. What you select or change in one is immediately reflected in the other, keeping them in sync with annotations and dimensions updated automatically. Create a corresponding model view from the drawing view with a single click.

Intuitive 2D Detailing in Drawings

Finalize designs efficiently with enhanced drawing sketching tools that are now easier to find and use for creating and editing sketch objects. New review cloud options add flexibility, while the new 2D Insulation command adjusts automatically to the model changes, helping you keep drawings up to date with less effort. Add formatted project notes using the integrated rich text editor.

Copy from Another Model or Drawing

Save time by utilizing previously completed designs in a new project, copying elements from both your model and drawing to eliminate manual copying challenges. The model clipboard copies detailed objects and their custom components in one click, while the drawing clipboard copies existing drawing details and inserts 2D library objects, text, embedded files, and sketch objects from other drawings in the same or previous project.

Rebar Detailing and Drawing Annotations

Gain stronger control over rebar sets for improved model stability. New freeze and unfreeze commands help avoid further changes and ensure consistency, especially once rebars have been sent to manufacturing. Rebar set behavior has been aligned more closely with rebar groups while retaining the advantages of rebar sets. Improved drawing annotations make it easier to annotate drawings to industry standards.

Bridge Creator

Reduce processing time in complex bridge modeling with the re-engineered Bridge creator, now a standard plug-in that stores all configuration data directly inside the model’s component objects, removing dependency on external files. The new centralized station library simplifies station creation and definition processes, and placement on curved alignments is more consistent with chord-based positioning.

Model View Management

Enjoy a modern way to organize and manage the large number of model views in your project. Preview a view without opening, see which views are personal and which are shared with the Model Sharing project. Create a general arrangement drawing or bring model views into an open drawing directly from this side pane.

Intelligent Data for Office and Site Alignment

Enhanced IFC Interoperability

Share only the information defined in each stakeholder’s RFIs when exporting IFC2x3 or IFC4 to reduce follow-up. Flexible export options allow selecting and exporting individual objects even within assemblies, with or without assembly information. The unified export also supports direct publishing to Trimble Connect. Previously fixed IFC entity attributes can now be adjusted, and you can also change the IFC entity type for reinforcement. IFC4.3 export meets mandatory requirements for both the building and bridge domains.

Trimble Connect Property Sets: Integrated in Tekla Structures

Work with the latest property data from all stakeholders – site or factory – directly in Tekla Structures. Trimble Connect project statuses, fabrication conditions, quality assurance, delivery and installation are available in Tekla Structures model objects, filters, reports and drawings, for example through part marks or model colorization. Add or edit Trimble Connect property sets directly in Tekla Structures to keep stakeholders up to date.

Trimble Connect PDF Drawings and Metadata Upload

Create a “single source of truth” by storing drawings alongside model objects, preventing outdated drawings from being used. When printing drawings, automatically upload and link PDFs directly to the corresponding objects in Trimble Connect. Shop and field crews can pull up the latest drawings on a tablet associated with the actual object, ensuring they’re always building from the most current data and ultimately reducing errors and rework. Other integrators such as ProjectSight can then use this metadata, including title, revision and other information, to avoid manual entry.

Layout Manager Out of Tolerance Workflow

Speed up decision-making on how to correct site misalignments using the new out-of-tolerance workflow in the Layout Manager. The updated user interface enables automatic identification and colorization of out-of-tolerance points, delta-value reporting, and comparison of as-designed and as-built points, documenting them directly in the drawing for easy review. This turns raw site data into actionable insights and supports timely corrections.
